Severity: Medium

Description: This control ensures database engine for Database instance is provisioned to upgrade automatically to newer available minor version. Enabling database engine "auto minor version upgrade" ensures that it receives all required updates and patches minimizing risks against known vulnerabilities with the database engine.

Remediation Steps:

Perform following to update RDS setting for version updates :

  1. Login to the AWS Management Console at https://console.aws.amazon.com.

  2. Navigate to RDS console.

  3. In the navigation pane, Click on Instances.

  4. Click on the Database instance to be modified, click Modify.

  5. Under Maintenance, set Auto minor version upgrade as Yes.

  6. Click on the Continue.

  7. Click on Modify DB Instance.
