Severity: Medium

Description: This control ensures that the versioning is enabled on S3 buckets. S3 uses versioning to preserve, retrieve, and restore every version of every object stored in your Amazon S3 bucket. With versioning, its easy to recover from both unintended user actions and application failures.

Remediation Steps:

Perform following to update S3 bucket versioning :

1. Login to the AWS Management Console at https://console.aws.amazon.com.

2. Navigate to s3 console.

3. In the navigation pane,  select buckets.

4. Click on the bucket to be modified, click Properties.

5. On Properties page, select Versioning.

6. Choose Enable Versioning.

7. Click save.
